It is our great honor to announce that we are holding our first international event “International Forum on Cybernics 2011” on 8th-9th of March 2011.The Center for Cybernics Research (CCR), University of Tsukuba was selected one of the “World-Leading Innovative R&D on Science and Technology" funded by the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan, on September 2009 and has been promoting its research project since March 2010.

CCR considers a vibrant society with long and healthy lives as a model society where the elderly and the physically-challenged spend their daily lives securely, safely and independently. We are promoting our research to realize such an ideal society in the near future.

We feel truly privileged to have distinguished scientists on robotics, medicine, nursing and rehabilitations from across the world such as Europe, US and Japan. We are having the outstanding presentations on cutting-edge technologies, social environment, and governmental approaches toward long-lived healthy society.

I believe this forum will be a great opportunity to share knowledge and information among participants. At the same time, I hope this event will make proposals for bright and energetic future lifestyles based on this most advanced human assistive technology.

Center for Cybernics Research / CCR where Professor Yoshiyuki Sankai is the principal investigator is holding its first international two-day event named International Forum on Cybernics (IFC) with remarkable guest speakers on robotics, medicine, nursing and rehabilitations. The main objective of this forum is to share the knowledge and information of this Cybernics technology and what it brings to the future with the public through oral & interactive sessions, panel discussion and an exhibition of HAL (Hybrid Assistive Limb). Also to promote research exchanges among participants.

The ROBOT SUIT HAL is leading-edge human assistive technology. CCR promotes research and development on this ROBOT SUIT to support, enhance and strengthen the limb motion, VITAL SENSING to monitor and support the physiological status, and SECURITY & SUPPORT system to enhance the lifestyle of the elderly. By promoting this world top technology, CCR aims to be the first to create vibrant society with long and healthy lives where the elderly and the physically-challenged spend their daily life securely, safely and independently.
